Stars!

If you're interested in star-gazing, then “Norville” is the place for you.

As there are no brightly-lit cities or large towns nearby, the night skies are clear and dark, and you'll be amazed at the STARtling number of stars visible to us here.

As the Moon waxes, becomes full, and then wanes, the brightness of the moonlight hides many stars from our view, but, nil desperandum!
It is worth a trip to "Norville" just to see the full Moon!

Peter has taken lots of “moon” photos, and has painted many “Window to the Stars” paintings, some of which are on exhibit in “Wethering Heights”.

Did you know - we can see the planet Venus in broad daylight with the naked eye?

TRUE!

Venus runs an orbit around the Sun inside of Earth's orbit.
When Venus steps out away from the Sun she becomes visible to us with
the naked eye, in broad daylight but one needs to know how and where to find her!

Did you know
- If we go to the other side of our own solar system, we find Pluto.

Earth orbits our Sun in approximately 365 Earth days, but Pluto has such an incredibly larger orbit.
Pluto's orbit is SO huge, she has yet to make one complete orbit of the Sun since the First Fleet arrived in Australia !

I sold my telescope and bought the biggest binoculars I could find, 30x125.
They are over 2 feet long and weigh 11kgs.
Telescopes only allow you to see with one eye but I don't want to miss anything, so I must use both eyes!

In search of the answers to that 3-part question.....

•  where did we come from?
•  what are we doing here?
•  ... and where do we go to when we die?
